About the Speakers
Activities will start at 5:30 p.m. with a resource fair of local organizations sharing community resources. The Clothesline Project returns this year, displaying t-shirts decorated by survivors, allies, and those who have lost loved ones to violence. Attendees are encouraged to create a shirt at home or at the event. Shirts and fabric markers will be available. The purpose of the project is to increase awareness of the impact of violence and abuse, to honor a survivor's strength to continue, and to provide another avenue for them to courageously break the silence that often surrounds their experience.
The program begins at 6:30 PM with live music and speakers and ends at 7:30 with the lighting of the candles. Our candlelight vigil is a way to remember the victims of relationship violence, to honor the survivors, and to act to create change.
